I Wanted to Be More of a Person: Conjuring [Afro] [Latinx] [Queer] Futures
Abstract
Through an examination of the development of the poetry manuscript Kohnjehr Woman, and the character Shee, I discuss that which I call “the archives of the imagination” and what it means to draw on transnational Afro-Diasporic lexicons and experiences in order to imagine [Afro] [Latinx] [Queer] futures. I suggest here that mapping our histories onto our present and future experiences generates new sites for the production of knowledge, in particular, knowledge based on seemingly impossible stories.Downloads
