Abstract

This poem code-switches between English and Spanish to explore the migrants experience and contextualize it in modern terms, raise awareness, and most importantly to blend my two languages together without italics or explanations, something I learned from the writer Bryan Washington when I lived and studied at the University of Houston where I received an MFA in fiction. Despite being mostly a fictioneer, I have always been a lover of poetry. I am realizing now that this Review is more Academic and I may submit an academic paper in the future. In the meantime I am hopeful that this poem is of some use to you. Thank you for your consideration.
